THE road to entrepreneurship is always a precarious one crammed with unexpected detours, roadblocks and dead ends. What is important is to push those boundaries through learning just like Muchaneta Patience Muzorori who is the founder of Hinnposs Investments (Private) Limited.
“I am a person who is always eager to learn new things. If I meet someone for the first time, I make it a point to learn something from them. In every situation, I try to find an opportunity. Not to mention determination and focus as tools in my toolbox for perseverance,” said Muzorori.
They say that “Hustle beats talent when talent doesn’t hustle,” and Muzorori exemplifies the adage.
She started hustling at a very tender age after taking a five-year break from school. She worked as a sweet vendor at my college and earned the moniker ‘mai masweets’ because she had a baby girl to look after.
“I finished my Ordinary level studies and immediately began a professional marketing course with LCCI.
“I progressed from selling sweets to selling eggs in and around Harare (including saloons) that I sourced from South African farms. I finished my LCCI program and immediately began another marketing program with SAIM. I started looking for a job as a sales and marketing representative as soon as I finished this program, and it didn’t take long,” Muzorori said.
She is clearly a person who is aware of the value of marketing and imagery, thus she channelled the efforts that she used to put in her fulltime job towards the established of Hinnposs.
“It only took me one night to flip the script. I simply asked myself, ‘What if I am to put this much effort into my venture?’ ‘I’mnot sure what I’ll become,’” she said.
Her entrepreneurial journey to some extent is a compensation to her parents and people who did not believe in her.
“I am a first-born girl child to my parents, and I cheated them by dropping out of school at such a young age. It was five years later that I realized my mistake, having heard all sorts of words from my parents and others (she’s not worth doing anything) as a result of that mistake.
“I promised myself that one day I would make them proud of me. Not only that, but whenever I saw a successful woman, my heart leapt for her,” she stated.
Hinposs offers a wide range of services which include; all types of commercial cleaning- commercial office complexes, factories, medical canters, warehouses and mechanical workshops, end of lease cleaning for commercial and residential properties, window cleaning, fumigation Disinfection amongst others.
The venture also manufactures; channel blocks, sanitisers, degreaser, dishwashing liquid, multi-purpose cleaner, toilet acid cleaner, bleachand fabric softener.
The hygiene services venture also boasts of fully trained and qualified surveyors as well as technicians and it has also demonstrated health and safety procedures. It offers detailed, clear and concise reporting and recommendations. Their services are cost and time effective coupled with reporting and recommendations that are detailed, clear and concise.

The fruition of her dream was made possible by the inspiration that she got from her late mother.
“My mother was my greatest inspiration, and she continues to be so even though she has gone to be with the Lord. Nothing was too difficult for her as long as it meant putting food on the table and paying her children’s school fees. I learned from her that if you want to achieve something in life, you must be willing to put in the effort,” she expressed.
She takes a leap off from established female entrepreneurs such as Divine Ndhlukula and any female entrepreneur is a huge inspiration to her.
ADVICE TO WOMEN LOOKING TO START-UP: “We already have ten employees who don’t get paid from us; use them,” a female pastor once told me. She was referring to the tips of our fingers on our hands. Some may argue that having capital to start a business is necessary, but I contend that a good idea attracts money. As a result, we now have partnerships, venture capitalists, and business Angels. Nothing is out of the question; if Muchaneta can do it, who are you to say you can’t?
