A few years ago, seasoned motivational speaker Agnes Hove Chikukwa read an interesting book that greatly impacted her life. This book was ‘The Purpose Driven Life’ by Rick Warren. The book highlighted the fact that everyone was created for a reason and this led her to figure out her purpose. Hence, the formation of her company Sequor Consulting.
“My life’s journey has led me through many different industries and places, from nursing to mining, however, what was consistent on my path has been my commitment to empowering people.
“My company is called Sequor Consulting and our mission is to empower people. Our empowerment solutions range from leadership to strategy, but we are most committed to empowering people with skills and techniques to better manage their finances,” Chikukwa said.
Her passion to empower people with financial techniques was bred out of the mistakes she made in the management of her finances.
“Why us? And why finances? The simple answer, is that I made many mistakes in the management of my personal finances and I am committed to teaching people to avoid those and other mistakes.
“Money is a very emotive issue, most of us are embarrassed to talk about it, unless we are bragging about how much we’ve made! But we all need practical support to better manage our finances,” Agnes remarked.
Financial training and coaching offered at Sequor Consulting is not simply about the provision of tools, it is delivered with passion using experience and storytelling thus bringing the financial theory to life.
Agnes’ mission is to humbly serve God by inspiring and empowering people to live a life of health, creativity and passion while they uplift others.
She possesses a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Strategic Management, a Business Management (BBA) Degree and a Diploma in Nursing.
Because she is an experienced motivational speaker, who has a passion for, and is experienced in speaking on the following: Personal Finances, Entrepreneurship, Women in business, Personal Growth, Health/ Wellbeing and Leadership.
ADVICE TO WOMEN LOOKING TO START-UP: Finance is the nerve center of an enterprise. If I had to advise aspiring entrepreneurs on starting out, I would advise them to learn to manage their personal, then business finances. I would also say, have a long-term strategy for your life. What do you want to achieve? What do you want to be remembered for? You are unique and you bring a special flavour to this world, use it to make a difference! We all have something meaningful to contribute,” she affirmed.
