The power of an entrepreneurial mindset: Ndhlukula encourages aspiring Entrepreneurs

ASPIRING entrepreneurs have been urged to start small regardless of lack of experience or enough startup capital; with excellence, mindset shift and action being cited as key ingredients that separate unique business leaders from the rest of the pack in business endeavors that guarantee the growth and prosperity of economies across the globe.

Speaking during the recently ended CEO Africa Roundtable (CEOART)’s Young CEOs Business Forum held in Nyanga, SECURICO Managing Director Dr Divine Ndhlukula said new companies have destructed existing industries and created new industries, adding that mature markets have seen numerous startups with great ideas that scale and take off making high impact.

“You do not have to be rich to move forward with your fabulous idea let alone experience, but just the power of a mindset. Believe in the idea, trust your instincts, do not be afraid to fail,” Dr Ndhlukula said.

“I had zero experience in the security sector, but I started SECURICO with only $1200.

 “Excellence is never an accident, it is always a result of high intention, sincere effort, and certainly it is a choice of many alternatives. Excellence then is the super ability to perform extremely well and still be able to do better than that.”

Ndhlukula added that the growth and prosperity of all economies whether rapid growth or the mature ones remain highly dependent on entrepreneurial activity, as entrepreneurs are the life blood of economic growth in Africa.

“I am an advocate of possibility thinking and James Allen in his book As a Man Thinketh said: All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is a direct result of his own thoughts,” she said.

“A few examples here are Munyaradzi Gwatidzo, George Billionaire, CJ Walker, Strive Masiyiwa, Oswell Binha, Ethel Mupambwa, me too and many others.  It all goes down to the mindset. “One of the things that I stand for personally is women economic empowerment and I do not make any apologies about it. I fought for women acceptance in the security sector and that supported many fellow sister entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.”
