Background

Founded in 1997 and officially went public on the 1^st of January 2002, Amalgamated Regional Trading Holdings Limited (ART) manufactures and distributes products in three key categories paper products, stationary and batteries. Its product portfolio is diverse; ranging from tissue paper, sanitary ware and disposable napkins to writing pens and automotive, solar and standby batteries. Its products fall under the brand names Exide, Eversharp, Softex and Chloride.

The company also has substantial interests in timber plantations and offers forestry resources management services. ART has a southern African footprint, with a strong presence in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and South Africa. Formerly known as Beachmont Trading Limited, its name changed to Amalgamated Regional Trading Holdings Limited in 2001. The company is a subsidiary of Taesung Chemical Company Limited and its headquarters are in Harare, Zimbabwe.
