Backstory and Journey:
My journey began with a deep interest in finance and entrepreneurship. I pursued studies in finance management and accounting, gaining valuable industry experience along the way. Despite facing challenges and setbacks, I remained dedicated to my goals and persisted in pushing boundaries to achieve success. Through hard work, perseverance, and seizing opportunities, I was able to carve out a path for myself in the business world.
Biggest Inspirations:
My biggest inspirations are women who have demonstrated resilience, determination, and leadership in the face of adversity. Their stories of overcoming obstacles and achieving success against all odds inspire me to strive for greatness in my own endeavours. Additionally, I’ve been fortunate to have mentors and role models who have guided and supported me throughout my journey, providing invaluable advice and encouragement along the way.
Shanda Initiative:
Established with a vision to empower female entrepreneurs, Shanda Initiative was founded out of a recognition of the gender disparities present in the business world. Inspired by a desire to create positive change and foster economic empowerment for women, the initiative provides a range of services aimed at supporting women at every stage of their entrepreneurial journey. From mentorship and training to networking opportunities and access to funding, Shanda Initiative is committed to creating a supportive ecosystem where female entrepreneurs can thrive and succeed.

Shanda Initiative offers a comprehensive range of services designed to support female entrepreneurs in achieving their business goals. These services include mentorship programs, training workshops, networking events, and assistance with accessing funding opportunities. Additionally, my personal brand, Ruvimbo, offers a line of hair care products specifically designed for African women, reflecting my commitment to providing targeted solutions that meet the needs of my community.
Vision:
The vision of Shanda Initiative is to create a world where gender equality is the norm, and all women have the opportunity to realize their full potential as entrepreneurs and leaders. By fostering a supportive ecosystem that provides women with the resources, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed, we aim to drive economic growth, promote gender equality, and empower women to create positive change in their communities and beyond.
Milestones:
Some milestones achieved by Shanda Initiative include the successful implementation of mentorship programs that have empowered hundreds of female entrepreneurs, the organization of impactful networking events that have facilitated valuable connections and collaborations, and the securing of funding for women-led businesses, enabling them to grow and thrive. We managed to scope an award last year for Megafest Business Awards Northern Region Award Winner 2023- Female Entrepreneur of the Year Diamond Winner.
Career Coaching:
Career coaching plays a crucial role in empowering individuals to navigate their professional journeys effectively. Through personalized guidance, skill development, and support, career coaches help individuals identify their goals, overcome challenges, and achieve success in their chosen fields. Social media platforms provide an invaluable tool for reaching a wider audience and sharing valuable resources, enabling career coaches to connect with and support individuals from diverse backgrounds and locations.
Work-Family Balance:
Achieving a balance between work and family life requires careful planning, effective time management, and setting clear boundaries. Open communication with family members and employers is essential, as is prioritizing tasks and responsibilities based on their importance and urgency.
